Brigette Krieg is Metis therapist from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She has worked throughout Northern Saskatchewan with Indigenous communities. Working from a holistic, traditional perspective in clinical practice including narrative therapy, she has been connecting with clients to walk with them through their trauma. She has worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, family difficulties, generational trauma, familial violence and addictions. Her approach comes from compassion and her understanding of mental health comes from the focus on kindness and empathy. As a school therapist, she has worked with many clients as they come to understand their gender and sexual identity. She strives to create safe spaces, community allies and confidence in the youth as they navigate their understanding of themselves. As a therapist, her approach emphasizes holistic healing, acknowledging the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, and community. Her approach prioritizes cultural safety, respect, and collaboration, recognizing the unique experiences and resilience of those she works with. Incorporating narrative therapies that engage in storytelling, ceremony, and connection to nature, fostering healing through cultural revitalization and connection to ancestral knowledge. The therapeutic process respects individual autonomy while recognizing the collective impact of historical trauma. By blending traditional and contemporary methods, her approach to counselling promotes empowerment, resilience, and cultural reclamation, facilitating healing journeys rooted in cultural identity and community strength.
Here are some key areas that I work in throughout my counselling practice.
