Regardless of what role I was in, the most meaningful part was always connecting with others on a deeper level through hearing their stories. This is what motivated me to complete a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. I believe that we are all on the same journey but with unique challenges and circumstances. I also believe that sharing genuine thoughts and feelings can help us to gain connection and experience empathy in a way that modern society makes difficult. Although unable to identify it at the time, I now understand that themes of mental health impacted my experience from a very young age. After years of feeling like I was struggling in comparison to those around me, I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression in my late thirties. I understand how it can feel to be stuck, depressed, lonely, unheard, isolated, anxious, or hopeless. I use a client-centred, strengths-based approach to empower individuals. I primarily use solution-focused, narrative, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I have experience working with adolescents and adults from various ages and backgrounds. I work with individuals ages 16 and up as well as adults in the following areas who are experiencing challenges, such as:
*NIHB Approved Therapist *Certified Canadian Counsellor (Pending) *Registered Social Worker |
