I have a BA in Social Work, BA in Psychology and ACA in Sociology. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, Senior’s, families and couples. I work from a collaborative, strength based approach that is mindful of cultural, ethnic and economic concerns. My goal is to help individuals to understand the link between their emotions, thoughts and behaviours to assist them to have insight about the impact in their life and assist them in making positive changes. My focus is on listening to individual concerns while providing a safe environment to address the concerns. I utilize multiple counselling strategies by applying the best practices to meet the needs of the individual. Therapeutic approaches include, but are not limited to: Client Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Reality Therapy and Dialectical Therapy. I am passionate about self care and assisting people through their most challenging times. I understand the difficulty in allowing yourself to be vulnerable while sharing your story and therefore provide a safe and calming space for you to do comfortably. I also offer (on request) Pocketalker Personal Sound Amplifier, which amplifies sounds close to the listener while reducing background noise, making it ideal for use in one on one communication. I work with individuals age 14 years and up, Senior Citizens and families with children of all ages in the following areas:
